Hi everyone :)

A quick review and preview of

B E A C H L A N E.

Presently …

Our Cafe’s last day of operation was August 20th 2018. In the meantime, we had intended to keep our upstairs spaces, and the Cafe space itself, available for bookings.

However … this is no longer the case due to recent events.

Ironically, the building next door has started to collapse. Council engineers have been out to check; deeming it unsafe, it may well be demolished earlier than planned.

The whole site including adjacent properties have now been fenced off to the public.

It’s serendipitous that our Cafe is now closed and …

Unfortunately our spaces will no longer be made available for private bookings.

Past …

As mentioned previously, the Government has compulsorily acquired this property and all interests in it. This includes 2 properties either side, and is due to the Railway Crossing Removal Project at Carrum.

In continuing to look for a suitable place to relocate, I reflect on all that we offered …

BEACH LANE was created to foster a community of micro-businesses both from-&-for local community.

We provided various spaces, events & marketing platforms, seven days a week …

With the vibrant Wholesome Nest Cafe, upstairs Studio, Library, Hub, and Practice rooms

All in a 100-year-old character-building, with a rear outdoor garden, all nestled between the beach and public transport.

In our 3.5 years BEACH LANE has supported over 50 micro-businesses, and hosted numerous events, workshops & classes.

Needless to say, it has been rewarding to see the many relationships fostered as a result of this enterprise … both at personal and business levels, connections have evolved with customers, Practitioners, business-startups, local Council, Associations, and State Government.

I would like to thank all the wonderful staff for their energy and contribution …

Each team member brought their own personality to this place and helped to create our unique vibe … hence, I was often heard saying behind the scenes … "wot-a-team!"

A special thanks to Radio Carrum’s Marcus … his personal support produced 57 individual podcasts, all of which sit on our website. This platform assisted in promoting Practitioner offerings and events at BEACH LANE ... thank you Marcus.

Future …

And so, as BEACH LANE transitions, I continue to explore a suitable alternative location... On a personal level, I will use this ‘time out’ to recuperate, reflect, reinvent ...

Time will tell what will morph & manifest ... so, stay tuned.

This Newsletter will continue, on an occasional basis to keep everyone up to date with developments. With best wishes to all, and ...

As always …
